Celebrating 30 years of Aarohini by reviving some of its unique compositions, which were earlier choreographed for exams, corporate performances and workshops, but had not been opened for our audience. This was an exclusive peek into the archives of the institute.

Aarohini’s grand biennial show had the premiering of its new production ‘SANKHYA SANKET’. The innovative concept was ‘NUMBERS and their significance in the Indian context’… numbers, their symbolism, their stories depicted serially through the traditional presentation of Kathak.

9th JUNE, 2016

Aarohini celebrated its Silver Jubilee year from June 2016 to June 2017. The opening event was a Kathak recital, ‘Anvat’, that comprised traditional, yet uncommon dance compositions. The performance showcased the strength of Aarohini: its capable dancers, as well as the wide range of its choreographies.

A Kathak performance by 115 little dance students - a majority between age 8 -15 years, learning at different branches of Aarohini in Pune, performing for the very 1st time on stage! Plus 10 of Aarohini's senior students performing 3 dances! Plus our fabulous guest dancers from the rocking YTA team performing in "Fusion".

It is always a great pleasure for dancers to perform masterpieces from Guru Rohini Bhate's repertoire! In addition, if you have all your best performers come together from far and wide, you have the best team for lights, sound, videography, photography and costumes - each one putting in his best with complete dedication and involvement, the experience is something divine, not just for the performing team, but for the audience as well!

A salute to all the Kathak Gurus and Teachers in Pune, who for decades, have been passing on the tradition of Kathak to the younger generations, their mission as pure as the holy fire, the ‘Yadnya’. Kathak recitals by 6 dance schools from Pune to represent their Gurus.

The first half of the show saw some wonderful presentations by Prajakta Raj and team Aarohini. Then, the grand finale of the year-long Silver Jubilee celebrations was done by none other than the Kathak maestro Shri Rajendra Gangani! His vibrant, energy-personified performance left the audiences in awe, an experience they will treasure all their lives!

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS 2016-2017

As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Aarohini hosted several classical performance veterans at ‘Enrichment Sessions’. These artistes shared their inspiring life-stories with the intimate audiences, which comprised students, parents, upcoming as well as renowned dancers. Some artistes hosted include Gurus Sharadini Gole, Shama Bhate, Roshan Datye, Neelima Adhye, Sujata Mohapatra, Vaibhav Arekar amongst others.
