Aarohini’s grand biennial show had the premiering of its new production ‘SANKHYA SANKET’. The innovative concept was ‘NUMBERS and their significance in the Indian context’… numbers, their symbolism, their stories depicted serially through the traditional presentation of Kathak.
Aarohini celebrated its Silver Jubilee year from June 2016 to June 2017. The opening event was a Kathak recital, ‘Anvat’, that comprised traditional, yet uncommon dance compositions. The performance showcased the strength of Aarohini: its capable dancers, as well as the wide range of its choreographies.
A Kathak performance by 115 little dance students - a majority between age 8 -15 years, learning at different branches of Aarohini in Pune, performing for the very 1st time on stage! Plus 10 of Aarohini's senior students performing 3 dances! Plus our fabulous guest dancers from the rocking YTA team performing in "Fusion".
Dedicated to our revered Gurus - Dr. Rohini Bhate and Guru Roshan Datye,

of their best choreographic compositions and Kathak ballets.
What an amazing feeling it is when your Gurus, your colleagues, your seniors,
your
students, your technicians, your backstage assistants - each and every one puts
in a lot
of effort and positive energy in enthusiastic support to put up a grand show
like this!
Only a powerful, inspiring and motivating force like the legendary maestro

could make this happen ...then and now!

It is always a great pleasure for dancers to perform masterpieces from Guru

Bhate's repertoire! In addition, if you have all your best performers come
together from
far and wide, you have the best team for lights, sound, videography, photography
and
costumes - each one putting in his best with complete dedication and
involvement, the
experience is something divine, not just for the performing team, but for the audience as well!

The first half of the show saw some wonderful presentations by Prajakta Raj and team Aarohini.
